Barry Schweiger '60 will be presenting and holding a book signing on Sunday, January 29th at 4pm in Pasadena at Vroman’s Bookstore (695 E. Colorado Blvd) on his book Rockitecture which is about the river rock structures of Southern California. Built from 1885 -1935, these indigenous buildings provided a new vernacular, that was not to last. Eight years of research discovered these unsung and undocumented river rock homes, churches, castles, watering troughs, waiting stations, and other structures. Their context, the social and economic cultures, when they were built along with who built them, the technology, and their inherent strengths enhance their stories. Parking is at the rear of the store, and the presentation will occur on the second floor.
