Makenzie (Pedrotti) Chronopoulos '07 started playing beach soccer after she graduated from college in 2011 and it quickly became a huge passion of hers. She played in domestic tournaments across the country but at that time there was no US women’s national beach soccer team. In 2019, US Soccer agreed to field a team but Makenzie was pregnant with her third child. She stepped away from the sport to raise her family and came back just in time to be called into the first domestic US Women’s National Team Training Camp which was held in August at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. Makenzie made the team and traveled to Paraguay earlier this month representing the US Women’s Beach Soccer National Team!
