A 2024 Success
The 2023-2024 school year has come to an end. This year, a great deal was accomplished. We had the largest group in La Salle history to enter the science fair. A total of six projects and ten students represented our school this year at the Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair.
Our students returned with many positive comments on their projects from judges and ideas for next year. Our center was able to offer two Pasadena City College courses, one of which was new to our list of offered courses. We had maximum enrollment in both Human Disease and Introduction to Health Sciences. For the Spring semester, we welcomed two Alverno Heights Academy students into our dual enrollment program. It was great having middle school students in our class to learn and earn college credit. We concluded the year with our banquet to honor senior students who completed the capstone project and award our hardest workers with special recognition.
Since the year has concluded, we are preparing for our second expansion. We are excited to have more space and dedicate sections of our lab to different areas of study. I am most looking forward to expanding our tissue culture work area. My students already have projects in mind that they hope to start on once the renovation is complete at the end of June. Following our new space's reveal, we look forward to hosting our middle school medical camps.
