Academic Decathlon Success
On February 5th, 35 students (5 teams) competed in Academic Decathlon in seven events: Art, Music, Social Science, Science, Economics, Literature, and Mathematics.
After yet another year of a mostly on-line tournament, the Lancers garnered 70 individual medals and a bronze medal for Division I.
The Division II squad won a ridiculous 27 medals led by sophomore John Burgess with seven medals (six gold!), junior Andrew Lai with four medals (three gold!), and junior Sofia Mena with five medals (one gold!).
The Division III squad won an incredible 22 medals with juniors Matthew Tesoro and Thomas Espinoza taking home four medals each.
The Division IV team was led by freshmen who combined for seven medals as well as Hayden Richards, who won five silver medals.
The team was unable to qualify for State this year due to La Salle's proper adherence to health protocols, but the team is getting ready for the World Scholars Cup in two months.
