Ed O'Connor Honored by the Lasallian District of San Francisco New Orleans
Longtime faculty member Ed O'Connor received the "Making a Difference Award" in June for his dedicated years of service and contributions to Young Lasallian Programming in the Lasallian District of San Francisco New Orleans (and the legacy San Francisco District).
Ed has been a consistent presence in the District student summer programming over the past 20-plus years. He played a key role in the development of the Lasallian Student Leaders formation program for student leaders. Since then, Ed has served as a moderator, presenter, planning committee member and as Co-director of Lasallian Student Leaders one year during a transition in the District Office of Education.
"As Ed transitions out of his role in Campus Ministry and Student Life at La Salle, we wanted to take the opportunity to honor and thank Ed for the many ways in which he has given to Young Lasallians at the District level," says Kenenna Amuzie, Director, Young Lasallians for the District of San Francisco New Orleans.
The award was presented at the conclusion of the Lasallian Core Principles Dinner that took place during the 2022 Young Lasallian Assembly at Saint Mary's College. The dinner provided participants with the opportunity to reflect on the Lasallian Core Principles following an on and off campus service day. In presenting the award, Kenenna Amuzie lifted Ed O'Connor as someone who has exemplified what it means to be inspired by and strive to live out the Five Core Principles.
