Thanks to the support of the Lancer Lawyer Alumni Network (LLAN), Mock Trial Captains, Matthew Toth and MaKayla Martinez, attended the UCLA Mock Trial Summer Institute Program for college credit. The captains joined other top-ranked individuals from around the United States in the program with seminars on subjects such as law and advocacy, direct and cross-examination techniques, objections and the rules of evidence, effective and credible witness portrayal, and sessions with members of the UCLA Mock Trial Team. The students also participated in multiple rounds of oral arguments in a two-day competition. Matthew and MaKayla look forward to sharing their knowledge and experience with other Mock Trial team members in August.
