Riley's Race for Change
A long-standing tradition at La Salle and other Lasallian schools throughout the United States is to raise money for our Lasallian Twinning Schools. Our twinning
school is Mount La Salle School (7th-12th) in Naka, Nigeria. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to Skype and Zoom with members of their school as we have got to know them better. We raise money through what we call Riley’s Race 4 Change.
Riley’s Race 4 Change was named after long-time teacher and track coach, Fred Riley. Coach Riley was very generous in racing funds for Mount La Salle. Riley’s Race 4
Change is a competition between each grade level, to see who can raise the most funds for Mount La Salle. The winning class earns 1st place points for the Showdown.
Wednesday, April 13th was the final callout for Riley’s Race for Change. With all the donations received by our La Salle community, students, and our two successful fundraising events (Pi Day and Senior vs. Faculty Basketball game) we surpassed our goal of $10,000 and raised a total of $15,154.42!! Congratulations to the Senior class for raising the most money and securing their first point for Showdown. We’re blown away by your support and efforts in coming together for a great cause. All proceeds go towards our sister school, Mount La Salle, in Naka, Nigeria. We did it for Naka!!
