School Unites Against Hate: Assembly Showcases Resilience and Community in 'Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life
Our school community came together today for an inspiring and thought-provoking assembly featuring the film, "Repairing the World: Stories from the Tree of Life". A heartfelt thank you to Gus Gladstein '23, co-president of our Jewish Club, for organizing this impactful event!
The film documents Pittsburgh's response to hate and antisemitism after the 2018 attack at the Tree of Life synagogue. The film follows survivors, victims' families, community members, and leaders as they confront rising hate and violence, including antisemitism, racism, hate speech, and gun violence. It underscores the importance of standing up against hate in all its forms and showcases the resilience of the Pittsburgh community in the aftermath of the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history.
We were also honored to have special guest Samara Hutman join us for the assembly. After the screening, our community members shared their perspectives on combating hate by raising our voices and embracing each other's stories.
Let's keep the conversation going and take action to create a world free of hate, prejudice, and discrimination. Together, we can make a difference!
