- Describe what your club/organization is about and what you do
Cultural Association Club is dedicated to celebrating the richness and diversity of many different cultures represented within our school community. We explore our similarities and differences and appreciate the vast diversity that La Salle holds. Throughout the year, we hold meetings with our 30 club members to raise awareness and appreciate the beauty of different cultures. Additionally, we have raised hundreds of dollars in order to give back to different communities around us. One way we used this money this Christmas was by sponsoring a family that is in great need of a helping hand. With the money we raised, we were able to buy personalized presents for each of the four family members. An example of one of the fundraisers was held on Dia De Los Muertos, where we sold Spanish sweetbreads to fundraise money and celebrate the rich Spanish cuisine. This semester, we are planning to hold different projects in order to direct our fundraised money for this new semester.
- Favorite activity/event of the year (or greatest achievement)
One of our favorite achievements of this school year was initiating a global library project: “From Words to Worlds; A Lasallian Worldwide Library Project.” This project aims to connect three different Lasallian schools throughout the world through the interchange of books. This project is currently in progress.
