Dr. Richard Gray Memorial - San Miguel Scholarship Fund
Dear La Salle Community, We continue to mourn the passing of former School President Dr. Richard M. Gray, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 9, 2021. During his twenty-year tenure as La Salle's president, Dr. Gray oversaw the construction of Kohorst Field, campaigns to provide funds for technology, the arts and athletics, the construction of a state-of-the-art STEAM laboratory, and the funding for La Salle's Blakeslee Learning Commons, among other important initiatives. On Sunday, November 7, 2021, La Salle hosted its first In-Person Admissions Open House since November 2019. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all families who attended our open house and spent a part of their Sunday afternoon with us. Our current students, parents, faculty, staff, coaches, and alumni had an amazing time meeting and chatting with our guests interested in learning more about our academic, athletic, art, student services, and co-curricular opportunities. Thanksgiving Service Project Success
La Salle's Support Our Troops Club led the 11th Annual Box of Love Drive to fill Thanksgiving Food boxes for needy military families. Thanks to the support of the school community and outside donors, the Club was able to fill 161 Thanksgiving Food Boxes and give the "For Families of Active Military" organization $4,025 for the purchase of gift cards from the commissary on base for turkeys and other dinner trimmings. Honoring the Memory of Mr. Roy Chang
On October 24th, La Salle hosted a Celebration of Life for Mr. Roy Chang who passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2021. Mr. Chang taught at La Salle from 2005-2021 serving in our science department, technology and engineering department and as coach of our robotics team. His Celebration of Life was attended by students, alumni, parents, colleagues and Roy’s family and friends. Girls Varsity Tennis are Del Rey League Champions!
Congratulations to the La Salle Girls Tennis team! They had a clean sweep of the regular season and the Del Rey League individual competition. The team had a perfect 14-0 regular season to win the Del Rey League team championship, winning for the 2nd year in a row. Sydney Sasaki '23 went 4-0 in the Del Rey League singles championship which ended with a competitive finals win over Pomona Catholic, 7-5, 6-3.
