Global Exchange Kicks Off with Students from Taiwan
The week of January 23rd, La Salle welcomed students and chaperones from Taiwan’s Global Elite Project for Youth. This marks the first cultural exchange visit in La Salle’s history, made possible by our new Center for Global Initiatives & Cultural Perspectives. The mission is to learn about our student life, campus culture, and teaching methods while fostering curiosity, creativity, and new cultural perspectives. Junior Parent College Night Recap
Our counseling team hosted a College Information Night for Parents of Juniors. Chris O'Sullivan, Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Iowa, was a great guest speaker. He offered insights from the college's side and cracked a few jokes. Counselors provided parents with insights on how to explore college options and understand the upcoming application deadlines/requirements.

Junior Retreat Recap
Last week, the Junior Class took a step back from their daily routine to explore themselves, their relationships, and their beliefs during their Junior class retreat at Mount Kare. The two-night, three-day retreat, titled “Who Do You Say That I Am?” gave students the opportunity to reflect on their identity in relation to themselves, their family, friends, and God. Surrounded by the picturesque mountains of Wrightwood, the Juniors were able to journey together with classmates and teachers as they delved deeper into these important questions.

National Hispanic Institute Throwback
Last Summer, we partnered with the National Hispanic Institute (NHI) to offer students the opportunity to apply for membership with NHI, an internationally recognized youth leadership program. As a result of this partnership, eight of our students met with other students from schools representing Nevada, Arizona, California, and the country of Mexico at the University of San Diego for a 6-day experience to speak their minds about how they can influence their community.
