After months of training and steady improvement, the La Salle College Preparatory Girls Golf Team capped off an outstanding season by winning the 2025 CIF Southern Section Division 4 Championship at Green River Golf Course in Corona. The Lancers delivered their strongest performance of the year, finishing with a total score of 438—an impressive 36 strokes ahead of second-place teams Fullerton and Valley Christian.
This year’s championship performance marked a remarkable jump from last season, improving La Salle’s 2024 CIF score by 23 strokes and demonstrating just how far the team has come.
The Lancers were led by sophomore Sarah Tutundjian, who shot a 9-over-par 82. Junior Amber Li finished with an 85, and senior Samantha Hu closed with an 87. Seniors Karolina Azula and Angela Zhou each posted solid rounds of 92, and sophomore Emma Bardakjian added a 109.

Throughout the season, the Lancers emphasized preparation, consistency, and confidence. What began as a promising group effort turned into something historic, as athletes steadily shaved strokes off their previous scores and embraced the challenge of competing at the highest level.
“We preached all season that if they played like they were capable, we had a chance to win,” said Head Coach Ed O’Connor, reflecting on the victory. “I kept showing them last year’s winning final score and telling them we could beat it, and we most certainly did. I could not be happier for this team.”
O’Connor also credited senior Reese Names for contributing to several matches throughout the year in support of the championship run.
The CIF title not only represents a dominant finish but also serves as a testament to the commitment, teamwork, and leadership of this year’s squad. The victory adds another historic moment to La Salle’s athletic legacy and sets the stage for continued excellence in the seasons ahead.
Congratulations to the Girls Golf Team on this incredible accomplishment! GO LANCERS!
