Academic Decathlon Team Earns Global Recognition at the Tournament of Champions at Yale University

From Slovenia to Yale, La Salle College Preparatory’s Academic Decathlon team continues to shine on the global stage. Following a strong showing at the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round earlier this year, six Lancers traveled to Yale University to compete in the highly selective Tournament of Champions, earning recognition across multiple team and individual events.

Competing as a senior team, Evan Loh ’26, Noah An ’26, and Roy Wu ’26 delivered an impressive performance, earning:

  • 2nd Place – Team Writing
  • Gold – Team Debate
  • Gold – Team Scholar’s Bowl
  • 23rd Overall in the senior division

Meanwhile, Grace Gardner ’26, Jocelyn Chiu ’26, and Amirah Tran ’27 continued their strong international run, earning Silver Overall and notable recognition in the Team Scholar’s Bowl, further solidifying La Salle’s presence among top global competitors.

In addition to team success, La Salle scholars earned competitive individual placements across writing, debate, and academic subject categories, including collaborative writing, social studies, science & technology, and literature.

Among the highlights, Evan Loh ’26 earned a 3rd Place trophy in CollaboWriter, recognizing excellence in collaborative writing at the global level.

The Tournament of Champions brings together top-performing students from around the world, making this achievement a testament to the dedication, preparation, and intellectual curiosity of La Salle’s Academic Decathlon program.

The continued success of these scholars reflects La Salle’s commitment to academic excellence, critical thinking, and global engagement—values that extend well beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to our Academic Decathlon team for representing La Salle with teamwork and excellence. Way to go, Lancers!
