TICKET AND REGALIA DISTRIBUTION

On Tuesday, May 12th, our seniors will be picking up their cap, gown, tassel, and honor cords during academic support. Please note that there are no extras of any items and cannot be replaced. Additionally, tickets for Commencement will be distributed. Each graduate was initially allotted 15 tickets. If additional tickets were requested, they were added to the allotment. If your family still requires extra tickets for graduation, please contact graduation@lasalllehs.org. Tickets are not required for Baccalaureate Mass.

SENIOR SUNSET: WEDNESDAY, MAY 13TH (6:00 PM)

Senior Sunset will take place on Wednesday, May 13th, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on the field. Though not a mandatory event, seniors are invited to partake in this annual tradition of watching the sunset prior to the start of official Commencement activities.

FINAL EXAMS: MONDAY, MAY 18TH TO WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH

All Seniors will take their final exams. Final grades are very important; colleges will ask for final transcripts, and your child’s ability to receive a diploma or participate in graduation activities is dependent upon them successfully passing their classes. Senioritis is real! Help your students to succeed by reminding them that this semester matters, no matter what others may say.

COMMENCEMENT PRACTICE AND LUNCH: MONDAY, MAY 18TH – WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH  (11:45 AM-3:00 PM)

Following their finals, we will be holding Commencement events practice in the gym promptly at 12:00 PM. Lunch will be provided right after the last final prior to practice for the graduates. All seniors are expected to attend this mandatory event in order to participate in graduation.

GRAD NIGHT: WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH (4:00 PM)

Grad Night will be taking place on Wednesday, May 20th, from 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM at Universal Studios. Seniors attending Grad Night will leave from campus for Universal Studios on chartered buses at 4:00 PM. There will be a drug dog search of the students’ items prior to leaving La Salle. They will return by bus to La Salle on Saturday morning at approximately 2:00 AM. We strongly encourage a parent/guardian to pick up their son/daughter at this time rather than allowing them to drive themselves as they will be exhausted from the evening. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their child before their arrival to campus and once they depart campus, after returning from Grad Night.

PRESENTATION EVENT: THURSDAY, MAY 21ST (9:30 AM)

Seniors will gather in the Amphitheater on Thursday, May 21st, at 9:30 am. Graduates will need to wear their cap, gown, tassel, and any honor cords they have earned during their time at La Salle with business casual attire. Presentation is a ceremony where our seniors will graduate in front of the student body. This event will also recognize the 50th Anniversary Golden Diploma graduates from 1976, and there will be a presentation of the Signum Fidei Awards to members of the La Salle community by the graduating class. While this event is required for all seniors to attend, it is not open to parents and the public. Graduates will be dismissed at approximately noon once the ceremony concludes.

BACCALAUREATE MASS: THURSDAY, MAY 21ST (6:00 PM)

As part of our Catholic faith and tradition, a Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 6:00 PM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on Orange Grove Blvd. to bless our seniors as they begin the next part of their journey. Seniors should be in church (business casual) attire. They will wear only their gowns (no cords, caps, etc.) and begin lining up by 5:30 PM in front of the church. We ask that seniors arrive at Assumption no later than 5:30 PM so that we can keep to schedule.

COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY: FRIDAY, MAY 22ND (11:00 AM)

Our 67th Annual Commencement Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 22nd, at 11:00 AM at the Pasadena Civic Center Auditorium. Graduates are to wear their gown, cap, tassel, and any honor cords they earned during their time at La Salle with business casual attire. Seniors should arrive at the auditorium at 8:30 AM so that they can have a rehearsal and prepare for their graduation ceremony. Please click here for Pasadena Civic Center Parking Information. Additional parking is also available at the Paseo Colorado parking garages. The civic auditorium doors will open at 10:15 AM for guests. Doors to the auditorium will close at 11:00 AM to allow for graduates to process in. Doors will re-open after the processional.

Participation in La Salle College Preparatory’s graduation ceremonies is a privilege and not an automatic right. On the first Friday in May (May 1st), seniors who do not have at least a 2.0 GPA or are failing any classes will be notified that they may be ineligible to participate in graduation events. Please note that La Salle does not grant graduation units if D+ (69%) or lower grades are received. If, by the end of senior exams, they have raised their GPA to at least 2.0 and have no failing grades, they will be able to participate in graduation activities.

DIPLOMA PICK-UP

Diplomas can be picked up at the front desk the week after graduation, Tuesday, May 26th to Thursday, May 28th from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

GRADUATION PICTURES

A professional photographer will capture the “moment” when the diploma is handed to each graduate.  Information regarding these photos will be sent to families directly from Bronson Photography.

FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

Students with an outstanding tuition balance who have not made arrangements with the Finance Office will not be issued a diploma. Parents should contact the Finance Office at finance@lasallehs.org immediately if they have questions about financial obligations.

SENIOR DECORUM

The second semester of Senior Year is an exciting time in each student’s life as they prepare to take the next step in their educational journey. Thank you for reminding your students to make good choices over the next week so that they can participate in all our Graduation festivities. My heartfelt thanks to you all for your ongoing support and partnership in our shared educational ministry.

Sincerely,

Ernest Siy, M.Ed.
Principal
