La Salle College Preparatory (Pasadena, CA) requests $2,000,000 to expand its Medical Virtual Reality (VR) program through the CARLOW Center for Medical Innovation. This initiative empowers underrepresented and low-income youth in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) to gain clinical readiness, industry credentials, and emotional resilience through immersive health simulations.
In partnership with Huntington Health, ChapCare, Pasadena City College, Cal State Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the program delivers credential-aligned simulations, bilingual instruction, and measurable anxiety reduction.
Over three years, we will serve 1,800 students (≥70% from Title I schools), award 1,050 health credentials, and place 420 students into paid or credit-bearing health roles—all while openly sharing our curriculum and data to establish a sustainable SGV health equity coalition.
Huntington Health — clinical mentorships, safety and infection-control scenarios, and placement pipelines.
ChapCare Community Health Centers — patient empathy and triage simulations, externship opportunities.
Pasadena City College (Allied Health Division) — dual enrollment and certification credit mapping.
Cal State Los Angeles College of Health & Human Services —
